Essence Candle Burning Instructions.

Essence Candles are designed to burn close to the edge in order to give you the maximum burning time possible. In other brands of candles the wick burns down the middle and leaves up to an inch around the edge of unused wax and fragrance, so actually you are only burning half of the candle or even less!

With Essence Candles you are getting more burning time, more fragrance and much less waste!

Here are some tips and suggestions to get the most out of your Essence Candle:

PILLARS:

1. Essence Candles are designed to burn for approximately 1 hour per inch in diameter.
For example, our Medium Pillar Candles are 3 inches in diameter so 3 hours at one time is recommended for the best results, any longer could result in the candle dripping.

2. Before lighting the candle trim the wick to 1/4 inch or less.
This will keep the flame small enough to keep the "well" of melted wax within the diameter of the candle. If the flame becomes more than an inch in height or starts to smoke, the wax will melt too quickly and will cause the candle to drip. To prevent this, extinguish the flame and trim the wick to 1/4 inch or less in height. Now you may light the candle again.

3. As the candle burns down, you can gently press the edges of the well toward the center of the candle. This is called "hugging" the candle and allows the candle to burn almost completely and evenly.

4. Do not burn candles in drafty areas. This will cause uneven burning and dripping.

5. Place all Pillar Candles on holders or plates that have a flame resistant surface. Obviously, any holder designed to be used with candles is appropriate.

6. Never leave candles unattended.
If you have children or pets, please don't leave a burning candle in a place were it can be touched or knocked over.

VOTIVES:

The same guidelines for Essence Pillars apply to Essence Votives except for the following:

1. You must use a Votive Holder or Container such as a glass or ceramic cup designed to hold Votive Candles.

2. The closer the container diameter is to the diameter of your votive the better. The candle will burn completely leaving only the metal base from the wick in the votive container.

If you follow these guidelines, your experience with Essence Candles will be satisfying and safe.
